SSVEC faced a unique challenge of pole placement on a recent 69kV sub-transmission job and found RS composite poles as our solution.
The line was designed for concrete poles but we determined that our crane could not set several poles due to the need to span an obstacle with the boom. We reviewed the RS pole offering and decided to try out these fiberglass poles. They worked great! We were able to set the fiberglass poles with our own equipment and avoid the cost of crane rental.
SSVEC will likely be ordering more RS poles for use as emergency replacement poles on our aging 69kV system.
